Buying in bulk at your local supermarket can save you a lot if you bulk up on those items that you regularly shop for or tend to keep in stock. These could be items such as household cleaners, toothpaste, toilet paper, spices, flour, oil, canned goods, and spreads to name but a few. You can rarely go wrong buying bulk products that won't go to waste or spoil quickly.

But buyer beware, when buying in large you must be careful to look at the weight and cost against what it would cost to buy that item individually. For instance, a supermarket may be offering a promotion of 'buy four get one free.' Under the guise of a offering a free product to its customer, you may in fact be paying up to twice as much as you usually would, and getting ripped off by what appears to be a bargain.
